I have imported P25 Phase II frequencies on my BCD3252 scanner Two days ago. As of now they remain silent. My local Police and Fire uses those frequencies according to you guys. They are on my scanner but they are silent. I also imported some analog frequencies and standard trunkated frequencies for other towns around here and they both work fine. Do I need to go in some where in the programming and put in some numbers or check some boxes to get them to work?
All help is appreciated
My local is Ridgeland, Ms Madison county.
Thanks
When you say you "imported" them - do you mean you have them programmed as conventional channels/frequencies? If so, you won't hear anything. I don't know of any scanners that decode P25 Phase 2 frequencies in conventional mode.
Non Phase 2 trunked frequencies you can listen to (although not very well) when programmed as conventional frequencies.
You need to program the Phase 2 frequencies as a trunked P25 system to listen.
EDIT/add: The RRDB for Ridgeland doesn't indicate that those talkgroups are Phase 2 but the posted information isn't always 100% correct - meaning they could still be.
Assuming these are the frequencies you've programmed:2 (2) 057 (39) Ridgeland Madison 854.41250 854.66250a 854.93750a 855.38750c 856.23750 856.43750 857.23750
857.43750
and you're in that area, you should hear some type of activity if you've programmed the system/site as P25 trunked.
