PA State Police difficulty

I'm having a problem getting PSP freq.s to woek in my Pro 96 scanner. I use Win96 and after uploading to my scanner I only get parts of the conversation; ie. I may hear dispatch then nothing from a car, or vice versa. any help is aippreciated. I'm a retired Phila. Police Officer, but new to scanner world. thanx., DAN

If you're listening to the VHF 154-159 range then the cars are too far away to hear since they don't use repeaters. For example, 155.670 is comms from a tower and can be heard for many miles while the mobiles or portables on 155.910 are line-of-sight which means the cars have to be close (a few miles away) to hear. Also, you want to turn the delay off because if you use a 2 second delay, you will miss comms since they use two different frequncies.
