• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

My daughter is leaving in a few days for Pace University in Manhattan. 1. The FCC list shows 461.225 and 464.475 for Pace University. Looking for which frequency is security and the PL or DPL of each frequency. .2. Is 154.25 186.2 still used for fire? 3. Is the UHF 482.10625 74.4 fire in use yet? 4. Should I program any police frequencies other than 476.5625 100.0 in her scanner? 5. Any other frequency suggestions? Thanks all for your help.

I pretty sure 464.475 is the security frequency. If she will be going to the pleasantville campus at all, then the Mt Pleasant Police 156.015, the white plains campus WPPD 460.400.

Thanks for the reply. She will be at the Manhattan campus. Still hoping for help on whether I should program any NYPD frequency other than 467.5625.
