I live about 10 miles west of Ely and the Pagami Creek Fire has provided some very interesting listening.
I'm hearing the US Forest Service, MN DNR, and a variety of air to air and air to ground comms. The helicopters, Forest Service aircraft, water bombers and fire detection flights are generating a lot of traffic.
Here's a list of the busiest frequencies sorted by greatest to least traffic:
123.175 Aviation - Air attack fire comms
169.925 US Forest Service linked repeaters
151.265 MN DNR - Fire detection aircraft air to ground comms
122.800 Aviation - Unicom - Ely airport
123.000 Aviation - Air to air comms over the fire
122.750 Aviation - Air to air comms over the fire
151.385 MN DNR
151.475 MN DNR Fire net
122.950 Aviation - Air to air comms over the fire
122.700 Aviation - Air to air comms over the fire
155.775 St. Louis Sheriff Tactical - Seems to be cross patched to Lake County
168.625 US Forest Service
