Thanks for the reply's but I'm still not finding the pager frequencies for the pagers that the firefighters carry with them. Other then the regular frequencies the only other ones I saw where for the tones. Is that what I need? The pagers cost used around 250.00 I was told, but I really don't want to go that route. If the pager can pick up the frequencies then I should be able also. Right?

I guess Im confused what your looking for. According to the database link above fire dispatch is on 46.50. If you program your scanner you should hear the fire departments being alertedo n this channel. It also appears EMS is UHF.

Am I missing something here ? Do you want your scanner to beep for the department tones ?

maybe I'm wrong in my thinking but my neighbor is a fireman and he has a pager that goes off first with the tone and then I hear dispatch before i can hear it on my scanner. The dispatch is always a little different then what i hear on my scanner.

The others are right. You are probably looking for the frequency for Northumberland County fire dispatch, which is 46.50. When there is a call, you will first hear the tones and then the dispatcher will come on and announce the specifics for the firefighters. It's the same with EMS.

Thanks everyone for your input. Have a new scanner coming next week and I'm pretty excited about that. I bought a new Uniden Home Patrol. If anyone knows someone who has the "Extreme Upgrade" & would like to sell it with the registry key, send me a message. I have had a chance to play with one & loved it. He was good enough to let me use his for a couple of days.
