Palmetto 800/BCD396XT Question

I'm upgrading to the BCD396XT and have a question for those who listen to the Palmetto 800 system on it. I'm using FreeScan, and am located in Cherokee County. I've setup a system in Free Scan titled Palmetto 800, and listed the Gaffney site with the control frequencies. I created groups for the Highway Patrol in our area, as well as the Spartanburg County talkgroups I'm interested in since they are simulcast by it. My question is this, I often travel to Spartanburg too so I need to account for the Spartanburg sites in the scanner as well.

Can I just add these sites to my existing Palmetto 800 system since most of the talkgroups I'm going to listen to in Spartanburg are the same, or will that confuse the scanner too much? Should I just create a separate system for when I'm in the Spartanburg area and duplicate the talkgroups

One of the default systems in the original BCD396XT configuration is called "SC Palmetto 800" (it's associated with SQK 40). If you look at that system with FreeSCAN, you'll see that a seperate system is not needed. I chose to add onto that default system rather than "reinvent the wheel". I did create a new system called "SC Palmetto P25" which I am putting the new P25 system sites in. It will eventually become the new statewide system, replacing the Palmetto 800 system (but my 396XT will be obsolete before that happens)...

Thanks for the heads up, would you be willing to post a copy of the config file you run currently for me so I can modify it? Sounds like you have a nice setup going.
