PC programming PRO97

Hi

I have a pro 97 and a programming "Cable 20-049. 9-pin serial connector" at one end and a 3.5mm at the other. Will this cable work to program Win97 software? I can't seam to get the computer to recognize the scanner.

Did you try changing to com port ?

Ya I did all that. I just found out the serial cable will not work on the 97. Only the USB cable will work.

The serial cable that will work on the Pro-97 is 20-289.

the black serial cable wont work but the gray one will. radioshack no longer caries the serial cables just the usb cable

If there are several Radio Shacks in your area, see if they still have the 20-289 serial cable. I bought mine on clearance for around $5 a few months ago - and I still see them at local RS'. It works fine on my Pro-97.

I was just in my local shack and saw the gray cable for $4.97 give or take a couple cents. They had about 4 on the shelf.

O well got my cable today. Works great.
