While updating my TRX-2's library, I decided to update the PC software, CPU, and DSP... PC software update to 3.42 and CPU update to 5.0 went off without a hitch. Then, I went on to check the DSP version and update, if required.

When I checked the DSP, the PC software indicated that I was running a newer version than was available: 7.7--but the version shown on my scanner screen shows 3.2--which I believe is the latest. A bug in the new PC software perhaps? As I said previously, I'm running the newest PC software--3.42--photos below.

The scanner is running fine, BTW--so there doesn't appear to be any negative affect.

Has this happened to anyone else or can someone try to replicate?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or thoughts.

After a few private messages between myself and the good folks @Whistler_Support, my DSP is showing the correct version again. The solution in this case was as simple as just "re-updating" the DSP with 3.2... Kudos to the folks at Whistler Support for solving this puzzling issue.

So it seemed like the DSP software where corrupt, at least at the place where it read the version number, but who knows what else could be corrupt and seems that the integrity of the file during update are not fully secured.

Yes, they did mention that I may have had a bad sector, but reflashing the DSP seemed to clear it up.
