PGE New System 2018

Portland General Electric (PGE) is bringing on a new 217 MHz DMR trunked system this summer. Call sign is WQZH595 which licenses them for the "B-block" of leased AMTS channels between 217.000 MHz and 217.500 MHz but does not list individual frequencies. This system does not appear in RadioReference yet. Does anyone know how to load this system into RR and/or the TRX-series of scanners?

I don't have those details, only that it is being replaced by a trunked DMR 217 MHz system now undergoing final test and will be deployed this summer. The usual reasons for replacement have to do with equipment reliability, aging, and replacement costs. I posted the inquiry because I don't have the full system description..

Sorry, The trunked DMR part did not sink in. If any of our DMR masters are near a site, maybe they can start the ball rolling. Base 217-217.5 and 219-219.5 mobile.

Thanks jeb - looks like they are proceeding on the system test. I may get some more info next week if I get to a meeting that one of the test engineers should be at but so far she has been rather close-mouth about details.

I have heard some occasional voice testing on the system about a week ago. But activity in additional to the control channels has been rare.

Stumbled onto a couple control channels this evening, I can only assume it's this system. It took me a few to figure out how and why I was receiving DMR on 217 mhz. I'm near the airport on a very poor antenna and the signal is quite strong.

Kitsap County has an 800 Mhz Tait DMR system for their public transit. It's functional and has very similiar DSD+ output. Voice traffic is steady but usually just during the core business hours: 7am to 3pm.

PS . Haven't had any luck using the SDS-100 on this system. Not sure if it's my location or a compatibility problem with the scanner.

I went ahead and did a submission for the data I had so the system is now in the database. I made a semi educated guess on which frequency was at which site for the two I could receive at home. Would love some help identifying additional site frequencies. Here are the sites according to FCC docs:

Here's what I have found so far using both DSD and a Uniden 436. DSD showed really different site numbers then the Uniden 436 but the 436 is tracking the system just fine. Hope this helps. Still a lot of testing going on.

Does anyone know what the current status of this system is? I was checking for activity today and the system appears to be gone. DSDPlus is not showing the strong signals I was getting from both Bald Peak and Healy Heights.

Yes, all the PGE DMR sites have been off the air for a couple of weeks now. No one seems to know why or what happened.

All the PGE VHF channels were hopping with issues related to the storm last night.

Yup patched to 153.575.
Anyone got this to track correctly with a 325 or 996P2 ? I tried the LCN channels earlier in this thread and no luck. Also tried running DSD with no luck.
