• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Anyone hear about Philly PD/Fd switching to the new 700MHZ system? Anyone hear about a firm time table for this to happen?

No need to adjust your tin foil hats, ladies, Philly is not going anywhere anytime soon.

1) They already moved down to the rebanded frequencies earlier this year

2) They are poised to change the existing system to "phase 2" operation in a few years

3) They aren't moving again.

End of discussion. Moderators, please close this topic and refer any further discussion to the appropriate thread already WELL in progress. Thanks and Happy Festivus!

Yes , the phase 2 system I heard will be 700 MHZ. When I last spoke with the PIO last jan, they said we just switched but don't be too comfortable we are switching again in a year or so. So by phase 2 it will stay the same on 800,just up the cc?
I was also told to expect some TDMA type 2. So again, when is this supposed to happen?
