On the Phoenix FD online CAD page, there is a house fire in the 4100 block on N. 48th Ave in Phoenix. (It's 8:42pm right now.)

In the listing, one of the units on scene is "BDUP00". Which police department is BDU Police?

I don't have an answer, but as another data point, according to a google search BDUP00 was also dispatched to a fire at 3538 W Maricopa Street Phoenix in early November.

For that one, Phoenix PD was also dispatched, so I'm not convinced it is law enforcement (although I understand why it might look that way)

I don't have knowledge of the Phoenix CAD system, but in our system BDUP translates to 'Board Up'.

Since your only seeing this code at structure fires it seems plausible that this code indicates dispatch of a board up/fire restoration contractor.

That would make sense. I've only seen it once, but it seems that it has been used at least twice, so perhaps it's a new CAD code, at least for the Phoenix Regional Dispatch.
Thank you.

It does in fact represent a board up company. When a request is received from the fire investigator to start a board up company, the TRO is able to special call 'BDUP' as any other unit but this send notification to another operator to bring up the board up rotation and start the next available company. BDUP will remain in the dispatched status until a company has accepted the job and is responding.

So my question, is there a list of the codes that is commonly used in the CAD?

There isn't an online list anywhere, but I can spit ball a few..

First every city, area, or fire district has a 3 letter code..

PHX - Phoenix
PDV - Paradise Valley
NCO - North County (apart of Arizona Fire/Medical Authority
ELM - El Mirage
SUN - Sun CIty
DSY - Daisy Mountain Fire District
GLN - Glendale
TOL - Tolleson
AVO - Avondale
GDY - Goodyear
PEO - Peoria
SLK - Sun Lakes (apart of Arizona Fire/Medical Authority)
GUA - Guadalupe
TMP - Tempe
CHA - Chandler
SUR - Surprise
BUV - Buckeye Valley Fire
BCC - Black Canyon City
TON - Tonopah
LUK - Luke AFB
HRQ - Harguahala
GIB - Gila Bend
MAR - City of Maricopa
SCT - Scottsdale
BUC - City of Buckeye

Others: LAV - Laveen, LFP - Litchfield Park, YNG - Youngtown, GRI - Gila River, SRI - Salt River, MRC - Unincorperated Maricopa County.

Every police department is represented by the city's code followed by P00;

SURP00 - Surprise PD
ELMP00 - El Mirage PD
MCSO00 - Maricopa County Sheriff's Office
GSUP00 - Grand Canyon University PD
ASUP00 - Arizona State University PD
DPS000 - Department of Public Safety

When a fire investigator is needed, you'll see the city code followed by IN after. This sends out a page to that city's investigators group. The unit will be updated with whichever investigator is responding.

GLNIN - Glendale Investigator 'dummy unit'.
FI156 - Glendale Fire Investigator.

Other codes you may see:
BDUP00 - Boardup company
RP0000 - Responsible Party aka Key Holder
SEC000 - Security Officeier
SRP000 - Power Company
APS000 - Power Company
SWG000 - Gas Company
LR0000 - Light Rail representative
ANC000 - Animal Control
STR000 - Streets Department
WTR000 - Water Department

I was thinking BDUP00 was a university PD, but I couldn't figure out which university :)

I've seen most of that list. I haven't seen the Light Rail, animal control, or security guard ones yet. And have only seen the board up code once.

I believe that CV is Command Van. Apparently, there are more CV's than just Command Van 1 and Command Van 30 nowadays. CVA, CVB, CVC, CVD, etc.

CR is a Crisis Response Unit, such as CR158 and CR301. They provide assistance to homeowners who have been displaced by a fire, and can also provide non-emergent transportation and counseling to family members of a seriously ill or injured patient, or to the next of kin of a deceased person. There is at least 1 YouTube video on these units across the Valley.

HD is Homeland Defense. Daisy Mtn's HD141 is part of their Fire Corps/CERT unit. There's an Instagram pic of HD141 online if you search for it.

Truck is a "dummy unit" used as a place holder to keep a call open in the CAD when an actual unit isn't assigned. I think it's mainly for special events.

Ah, cool. I didn't realize that CRVA, etc were the MCT designations. I thought they were seperate units altogether.

Where are the CRV and CV1 quartered? It wasn't that long ago I saw the old CV1 out of FS 30 at the Fry's I work at, buying the days groceries, and the newer one was at FS 1 (or next door to FS 1 at the chief's office, which I once got a tour of about 25 years ago).

I think Buckeye has a Southwest Deputy Chief, SWDC. I'm sure I've seen it a time or two in the CAD.

The CRV is stationed at FS 1 next to SDC.

CV1 is quartered at Fire Admin in reserve status. It comes out for special events or when CRV is down for maintenance. The old CV30 or CV2 (the Mack Truck) had been auctioned a few years ago. She's still around the valley somewhere as some sort of tailgater.

SWDC is no longer in service. The Southwest Deputy Chief was a partnership between Buckeye Valley Fire District and the City of Buckeye Fire department that staffed a BUV BC with a BUC BC to form SWDC. The partnership ended and they are back to the respected BCs.

Those CRVA MCTs are only turned on when the CRV actually sets up and prepares to receive the incident commander.

Wow. It was August 3rd, 2011 that I took the pic of CV30. I thought it was much more recent than that. 2, maybe 3 years at most.
Tailgater? So someone is using it at special events, or sports events, as a motorhome, basically?
Too bad one of the Ham radio clubs couldn't have purchased it for Field Day, public service events, and emergency communications needs.

Thanks for the info.

I actually looked at CV2 when it was up for auction and considered bidding on it but, a lot of equipment had been stripped out of it. One of the most important thing was the generator. There was basically just a big hole where it belonged, no frame, no cables, nothing. There were also a bunch of other things but I don't recall them.

Remember, when that truck was built and was CV1 it was the first of it's kind and kind of patched together. I was sad to see it in such shape or it would have been a ham radio asset today.

There was a 1st alarm apartment fire at 2602 W. Myrtle Ave in Phoenix today. It's in clean up stages now.
On the CAD page, one of the units listed is "REDC00". If "BDUP00" is a board up company, is "REDC00" a redecorating company?

Yes, I am being extremely facetious here ;)

So, what is "REDC00"?

Technical?
Terrorism?
Training?

HD13 (Homeland Defense) is the Terrorism Liasion Officer, correct?
