I just got an sds100 and I feel like I was getting way more traffic on the 436hp. Basically I just had all county stuff as a fav list and turned a few on when I'm in the area.

Same antenna. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or what. Same exact antenna too... remtronix something

Is the programming identical between radios? Are the same service types enabled on the SDS as on the 436?
As far as I can tell, yes..Im even trying full database with all service types on, and all nationwide systems on. I got the scanner used so I'm wondering if there is a setting I'm missing

Genuinely curious how that will show anything? Both were updated database and both had all county stuff added as favorites. I was told sds100 has better simulcast support 🤷🏻‍♂️

How would you expect any help from anyone here without looking at what you have done for programming/setup?

Asking for help and not giving us what you are working with is like asking Ray Charles to drive you home.
You also have to experiment with the built-in filters on the SDS100. I can tell you after you dial in the SDS100 it hears as good as the 436 or better. The new SDS150 does not even have to play with the filters plus the audio is better on the SDS150.

Was just genuinely curious because 1. I have to reset password on my pc. And 2. Its just the alameda and contra costa county stuff for California. But one sec

Maybe I'm doing it wrong but do you want all the favorites lists? I'm not even using these anymore, I'm using the full database with 50 mile range and zip code set

You do understand that zipcode and 50 Miles adds 50 miles to the range that is in the sites for each frequency.
I have sites that have the site range set at 30 Miles you add 50 Miles and you are looking at 80 Miles.
Every Frequency that touches you 50 Mile circle is being scanned. You could be scanning a 1000 frequencies or more.

You’re jumping all over the place. In your original post you mention favorites lists. If you aren’t using them on either scanner, then of course they are irrelevant. Update database on both, turn off FLs on both, turn on database on both, set location and range to same on both, then execute your test and post results.

Oh and set service types and national systems to monitor the same too.
