oh, not happy with clearwater edacs range at all. those guys were out of range at ulmerton/i-275 while chasing a jerk who rammed a c-water cruiser. I pick up clearwater fine on a scanner. the copter kept everyone informed on LE-1 and rebroadcast was timely on different systems and jurisdictions, but the c-water cruisers were out of luck communications wise, it seemed yesterday. maybe c-water needs to consolidate onto the new pinellas p-25 system or put an antenna over hear or get better radios. i thought they had comm ability all over the county and into hillsborough, but maybe not. of course, i also want hillsborough edacs broadcast on the new p25 system so they can hear each other even if they can't communicate cruiser to cruiser accross jurisdications.

Your points are legitimate, no doubt. The range on Clearwater EDACS has always sucked. A simple programming of conventional 800 MHz mutual aid repeaters (which do exist and are hardly used) would solve these problems.
