Pineville PD

I monitor Pineville PD on their P25 and "backup" channel but haven't heard anything past several days. Have they made recent changes to their radio system?

Good question. I noticed a few weeks ago that their P25 system was down, and at that time they were using the backup channel. I had it on for a few hours today and never had a peep.

Discovered the problem. They added a couple of site frequencies and deleted some.

Sounds like testing on talkgroup 2. I'm not hearing any regular traffic though, just testing.

EDIT - regular traffic is on talkgroup 1.

The reason I wasn't receiving Pineville is because they went to Phase II P25. My BCD996XT won't do for Phase II. SDS200 for me soon.

Interesting, I didn't realize that. No issues with receiving the system on a '436 and G5. I did open it in Unitrunker and confirmed channel access is P2. I think this is the first Phase 2 system I've monitored.

Just noticed a note that the system is Phase 2 capable, so how do you know if that is the case, or they are actually using Phase 2? I don't see anything on the screen on either radio that says anything other than P25
