Place Crash in Eastlake

A small plane has crashed in East Lake near the Birmingham International Airport.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue on scene in the 8000 block of 6th Avenue North. No word on any injuries. FD opps are on BHM TAC

Unfortunately the lone person onboard the pilot was killed,the plane enroute from New Jersey to Shelby County,was diverted to Birmongham due to fog,while setting up for approach hit a tower of some kind and crashed.It was a Beech Baron N48TS.
