Police Chase Westfield

Just got a notification from WTHR Ch.13 that shots were fired in a police chase on US31 at 196th Street. ISP has a helicopter up. Has there been any communication on the SAFE-T mutual aid channels? I have not heard anything and want to make I have the correct SAFE-T TGs programmed.

The radio traffic was on ISP Ops 1 once ISP and Westfield PD patched TGs. I'm assuming the WPD encryption stops when it's patched with a non-encrypted talk group?

That's what it sounded like. I was hearing some 81XX unit numbers on Ops 1. I wasn't picking up Ops 1 at all on my 396, and it wasn't until I turned on my G5 that I started picking it up. Since those are non simulcast sites, I should not have had trouble picking up OPS 1 on my 396. I was able to pick up the D 52 tower and the Hortonville tower on my G5.

That doesn't make any sense. Radios don't become un-strapped just because a talkgroup is patched. Encrypted and non-encrypted talkgroups can be patched seamlessly. Just yesterday in Speedway there was talk of patching SPD-TAC to MET-CW during a SWAT callout.
