In regards to an accident/10-50, I sometimes hear "MBA". But dont know what it stands for.

I have a feeling that 'A' means accident, but the 'M' and 'B'...?

the numbers that you are hearing are most probably the last digits of the officer's unit's mileage. If a male officer takes a female or a juvie into custody they give dispatch their
beginning mileage and upon arrival at their destination their ending mileage.
Any officer that has a take home car also reports beginning/ending mileage.
Some agencies even log shift begin/end mileage.
You will rarely hear both sides of a MHP conversation. If you are within 2-3 miles of the trooper you may hear his side of the conversation. They also do have a repeater
channel that troopers talk to each other on, but again you have to be close.

You're probably hearing MVA - motor vehicle accident.

HBO: Handled By Officer, MVA: Motor Vehicle Accident, also a 10-50 (With appropriate J Code), and MVC, Motor Vehicle Collision. For MHP, and many agencies in MS, the J Code tells ya what type of accident it is.... MHP 10-50 J Codes: J-1 No Injuries, J-2 Injuries Involved, J-3 Hit and Run, J-4 Public Safety Vehicle Involved. Last I heard, they don't use a J Code for fatality.
