For those of you that monitor Polk County Fire/EMS they have updated the CAD system. It gives much more information and is realtime with units dispatched (both Fire and EMS). Not sure when it changed but it has been within the last month or two. Check it out:

Yeah, I noticed that the other day. The prelim call info seems to pop up when the operator sends the info to the dispatcher and shows "pending".

The recent change has got me Baffaled, does any one know the new ALS unit numbers.

I know what you mean.. and not just EMS but fire/rescue have also changed. Fire does have the new and old truck and engine numbers online.. ie Medulla Station 19 is now Medulla Station 480 and Engine 19 is now Engine 481, but it is real confusing! I have not found anything on EMS though. I guess we will need to start building a list.

I would probably hold off for a bit, the county has already budgeted and approved a new digital system which is sure to come online before too long. You can certainly get a digital scanner now and be good to go after the upgrade, but they are not cheap. I would just hate for you to go to the local Radio Shack and pick up an analog trunk tracker and have it be of no use in a couple of months.

Any ALS units that also share a station with fire, has taken their numbers. Like ALS 20 is now medic 131 and so on. But the ALS units, I'm sorry medic units, that are stationed by themselves I don't know what the numbers are.

davenport fire dept

I see that there is a list of the new fire station numbers and medic units. Does anyone know what Davenport Fire Dept's new FS# is?

Davenport Fire

From looking at the Polk County Fire Zone map I believe Davenport is 240. That is there zone number. I can't remember hearing 240 on the air when I was listening. Hope this helps.

That is not correct Eng22ine. ALS 23 now MD087 is quartered with Eng10 now Eng 871. The ALS units with three digits are cross trained as medics and firefighters. MD 131, 221, 671, 681 and 951 stand a chance of being second due on the fire ground and being cross trained they fulfill the OSHA requirement of two in and two out. So interior fire fighting and potential rescue operations can commence without waiting for the second due Engine Company.

The EMS codes are lengthy. Here is a link to a Wake County NC listing, refer to the Medical Priority Codes section. All the codes used in Polk County are here. The levels I am not sure of. They maybe Classes like a Cardiac Arrest is a Class 1 emergency. Then again it may not be just not sure.
