For a few weeks now the reception of Fairfield PD (470.625) and the Trumbull Mall (464.7750) has been really poor. The mall is less than a mile away. I've checked all my antenna connections inside and no other frequencies seem to be a problem. Any suggestions before I go climbing on the roof to check the antenna up there?

I cannot test the sites you are questioning, but if two separate systems have changed, I would strongly suspect your setup. Especially if one of the systems you are monitoring is a police department. Mall security I could believe having problems, but not both at the same time.

How has the propagation been and has the hurricane caused any difference and anything you've been receiving? I know you weren't exactly where the hurricane hit but I'm guessing you've had a lot of rain and I wonder if the propagation hasn't been very good in the UHF band you are talking about? That also check your squelch settings if they could be a factor?

Haha. I made a mistake too and I thought I read Fairfax and thought you were in Virginia :) I don't know how the hurricane may have affected Connecticut or if it did but everything else I mentioned might possibly be the reception culprit?
