The pin closest to the USB 2 port looks like it it is bent up toward the top of its slot. What do you guys think. I'd recommend looking at this pic on a smartphone so you can zoom in and see it. I have the sds100.

We don't know what scanner you have, and there is no pic with your post.

Be aware:
(I had a bad USB also)

Paul if your reading this - my SDS100 had USB intermittent connection from the beginning.
I think the below is complete crap, but unless you intervene, I guess I have to pay, or have a useless (expensive) radio.

On the service tracking website:

Your order has been checked by a technician and it was determined to have a problem that is not covered under the manufacturer's warranty. The below cost is the amount due to repair or exchange your unit. Please allow 10 business days for product shipment following approval.

(Line 1 SDS100) REASON FOR ESTIMATE
UNIT TAMPERING.

Repair Charge: $79.95
Shipping Charge: $10.00
Total: $89.95

Well I FOUND the problem. The USB cord NOT the scanner, was faulty even though it showed no signs of visual damage. Thanks to everyone for their inputs and suggestions.
