I have been away from the scanning community for a long time. I last owned a 536. Loved the unit even with all its short comings. Any way, I recently scored what looks like an almost brand new unit for 25 bucks. I do think the guy had any clue as to what he had because he said it was 40 channel. I laughed hard on the inside. It did not have any power cables. Can someone point me to where I can get some for house and car?

That makes a lot of sense since the seller thought it was "40 channels." I'd find a :LEO to check the serial number (if it's still there. )

Even if it is hot, there's about a 90% chance the original never recorded the S/N to give to the police. Even so, I'd still check it.

If it has any of the upgrades like DMR, Uniden can probably tell you who the owner is...

One other item that is probably missing is the "WiFi Link for remote access" cable with electronics. It plugs into the rear of the BCD536HP and has a small, rectangular black housing on the other end which is the WiFi Link electronics. When plugged into the BCD536HP and the scanner is turned on, a small, green LED will illuminate on the WiFi Link enclosure.

I do not see this item listed as an accessory so you will need to contact Uniden to see if you can purchase one separately from the scanner.

Please do check with your local police agency to see if the scanner might be listed as stolen.
