    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value.     The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Good Afternoon....

Looking for a recommendation to power a total of 4 CDM1250 mobiles for base station operation. Astron command post modules are not really an option as the radios will be rack mounted at a desk. I have one inverter now powering 1 radio but I’m concerned about running 4 individual inverters to the same power source. Thanks for the help.

Inverters???? Inverters convert DC to AC. What is the power available? 110 VAC or 12 VDC?

It it's AC, why screw around? I bought three NIB Motorola power supplies for $150.

Is there a possibility that all 4 radios could be transmitting at the same time?

What wattage are the radios?

Do you need battery backup?

Does the power supply need to be rack mount?

Per Motorola spec sheet, the CDM series can use up to 1.5 amp in receive. A 45 watt Radio could draw 13.5 in transmit. A low band 60 watt radio could pull 17 amps in transmit. With this info, you could have 6 amps draw if all 4 radios were receiving with the volume wide open. But average would be no more than 4 amps in receive for all four. If you only transmit on one at a time, you would need no more than 17 amps for 45 watt radios and no more than 20 amps if you had a low band in the mix. So I would suggest a good quality 20 amp supply would fill the needs.

If anything i would suggest 50 amp--even if he is txmitting with 1 radio that leaves 3 receiving so 13.5+4.5=thats 18 amps 20 amp is cutting it close to heat up fast

even if he has 2 txmitt at the same time 13.5x2=27amps +3 more amps (2 idel radios)=30 amps Total/ if he got a 50 amp thats more than enough for 4 radios plus a few other 12 volt items to use
