• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

G5 PPS V00-04-00-36 Am trying to use the Radio Reference link to import Massachusetts State Police trunking system. (| have the premium radio reference account). I selected the state and statewide as opposed to a county. In step 2 selected P25 Trunking Systems and instead of populating a drop down window with a list of trunking systems, it displays no data. Have changed the state to several others and with same process, receive numerous P25 Trunking Systems. The strange thing is if go to a browser and look for Massachusetts State Police trunking system, it appears. Just not when going through PPS.

Out of curiosity, did you try it by the county? I'm not from your area and have no idea what you're trying to receive but I've usually done IL and MO, thru the counties to get the list to populate.

Yes, I have tried by county with same results. I've had these radios for years and have set up many profiles and never had this issue. Radio Reference says the problem is on the Unication side of the interface.

Can you post a link to the system from RR to verify what I am about to tell you is correct?

The state police system I see for Massachusetts is a SmartZone system which doesn’t work on Unication G pagers. I’m not familiar with the area, but this is what I see from DB.

The Massachusetts State system is not a 9600 baud APCO25 system. Only those systems show up to download to the Unication radios.

Massachusetts is:

System Type:Motorola Type II SmartZone
System Voice:Analog and APCO-25 Common Air Interface

Aren't there two systems listed for the state police or am I reading this wrong?

Commonwealth Of Massachusetts Interoperable Radio System (CoMIRS) Trunking System, Regional, Massachusetts

I honestly don't know what's going on up there.

Maybe it varies from county to county and we do not know which county he's trying to add...

The CoMIRS is the P25 phase 2 system of the future!
The western part of the state is running P25. I would say from Springfield to the NY border.
The rest of Mass. will be completed around 2027.
I think you can find CoMIRS in the Worcester county site.
