Good evening Admin staff,

Does the purchase of a "premium membership" supercede/nullify one's status of being "Completely Banned for the Greater Good"?

I ask because it seems that an account which was "Completely Banned for the Greater Good" has since purchased a premium membership and has effectively "unbanned" themselves, and is posting in the Tavern.

Curious,

Curious,

I'm sure that the mods can provide more specific (and perhaps more accurate) answers, but here's my take on this.

"Completely Banned for the Greater Good" is a forum thing, while "premium membership" is more a frequency database thing. Your status on one doesn't really translate to much of anything on the other. A person may be totally banned from posting on the forums and still have full access to the database side of the site. I don't think that their purchase of additional database access should affect their ability to post or not post on the forums.

As far as the tavern goes, it's a much more free area of the forums and follows different rules (e.g. a new member may have hundreds of tavern posts and still be moderated on the regular forums due to the lack of posts to allow unmoderated access to them). It may be that the member in question found that the fact that they're banned from posting in the normal forums may have a loophole that allows them to post in the free-wheeling area of the tavern.

Ok. I wasn't clear on how they related.

Yeah, that's my question -- whether or not the subscription-purchase would have an overriding effect on the account's forum-ban. Maybe the admins can clarify this point.

Thanks for the reminder. I remember reading this in the rules and reg's threads, too.

That's an interesting possibility. Maybe the admins can clarify this point, too.

Thanks for the reply,
