I am looking for a way to possibly stream my audio from my scanner at home to my phone/computer while on the go. I run a local scanner page for my area, so I would like to be able to listen to my scanner remotely from work/school etc. when I can without taking my scanner with me, mainly so I keep the reception of my discone at the house. I plan on running ARC on an old computer connected to the internet and VNC or Google Desktop to control my scanner remotely through the virtual scanner on ARC. I would also like to possibly add the TG tags/IDs too. I would like this to be a private feed though.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I do have an old Android phone I could connect to my hotspot if need be. Does Win500 work with the BCD436?

I am using a GRE PSR-600. Win 500 doesn't work with BCD436. I also use a Whistler TRX-!. I know there is an app that will stream it. I don't have the app yet, but plan to get it.

I've done this using VNC and it worked great! You might want to try TeamViewer as well! It's compatible with Windows, Mac's, Linux, Android phones, iPhones & iPads. Very powerful, flexible and secure.

You may want to review the posts in the link below. It discusses much of what you are looking for. There are multiple ways to stream a private feed from your home shack to your phone and/or other devices. Been doing that for years. Hope this is helpful.

Thank you, that was helpful! However, do any of you know if I can stream a completely private stream, like password protected to IceCast? I listen to the the PD tactical channels and do not want those being stream should an incident come up while my feed is active. If not I may just disable them while I’m out on the go.

Not sure I understand your last question, but will give it a try. If you stream your home scanner to just your phone only, then it is going to be private and there is no need to limit/disable any talk groups.
