Is there any way to mute e on a pro 106 like the bearcat scanners do or im I just stuck with the noise

If "mute e" means "mute encrypted signals", then no, not as far ask I know. I didn't find anything about it in the Easier to Read Pro-106/197/PSR 500/600 Digital Scanner Manual, either.

only way to mute enc is to lock out the talk group by hit the l/out for temp or func + l/out untill you decide to take off the lock out

The Pro-106 doesnt have the mute encryption feature that your uniden has. You either have to deal with it or unprogram/LO the talkgroup or frequency.Yes the encryption noise is very annoying and it always seems like it is twice as loud as the other things you listen to.
