I got a pro 106 today and I was wondering when you hit the search button does it search for p25 automatically or do I have to enable it? Read the manual but didnt see this in it.

If you're searching and it comes across a P25 voice channel, it will detect and decode it automatically. You don't need to do anything to make it do so.
