Pro 106

I just purchased a Pro 106 from Radio Shack. I live in Nashville,TN and all I want to do is listen to Nashville Fire & Police. I've read the manual and feel like an idiot! Can someone please give me step by step directions how to do this? Thanks.

Nashville Police & Fire is a rebanded Motorola Smartzone trunking system.

Program the 8 red frequencies from this RR Database page Nashville/Davidson County System Trunking System, Nashville, Tennessee - Scanner Frequencies using this shortcut Programming Shortcut PSR-500/600 RS Pro-106/197 - The RadioReference Wiki

As system is rebanded you will also need to set 6 extended frequency tables as follows:

The shortcut does not list rebanding, however, use keyboard as follows:
PGM>Edit (F2)>CURR ((F2)>Down to TSYS>SEL>Down 12 times to T Tables>Rt 2 times to Custom>SEL.

Enter data as above then save out.

Some great software makes this task much easier.

May I suggest Don Starr's Win500. At worst there is a 30 day free trial period but I think you will find it most helpful and time saving. There are other programs that people are happy with and they may want to chime in. Don't forget the cable to connect PC to radio.
