So I have had the Pro~106 for a few years now and it is among the best that's for sure. I have done some manual programming and also use the ARC 500 software and USB cord, but seem to have trouble understanding the control channels. Question: If I have the listing of control channels from the RR database (P-25) for a certain area which list them as primary red and other blue, do I program them all from the list into one talk group or scan list?
I found other freq's for the area I am interested in and only got part of convs. I added a control channel and I got everythin. I still think I am missing out on something?

Any Ideas out there?

Pro~106 - Pro-94 - and recently my mom's old Uniden Bear cat hand held. ( thanks MOM)

Trunked system control channel frequencies are part of a trunked system - they're not programmed into "talkgroups" or "scan lists".

In the trunked system, you'd enter all of the control channel (primary and alternate) frequencies for the site(s) you want to monitor. If you can (i.e. sufficient space in the trunked system's 32 frequencies), you should probably enter all of the frequencies - even those not flagged in the RR DB as "control channels". You won't hurt anything by doing so, and it takes care of the possibility that not all control channels are so flagged in the DB.

Well Thanks. So i can enter the control channels as a group that are listed and should have a good group to monitor? That's my biggest problem on the scanner is trying to seperate or understand the scan lists and the talk groups in my scanner.
I can copy and fill my scanner from the database and add freq's manually, but knowing how to organize it all just stumps me everytime. Getting there though.
Thank you !

Yeah I know the feeling, I am doing it all by hand, it is like a whole nother world to me going from direct entry programmable scanners such as the BC72XLT or my older RadioShack Pro-75 , but I do like the Pro-106 a lot and I am getting the hang of it.

In ARC500 add a new trunk system object.
Then double click in the Frequencies tab, a new window is shown, there you enter/paste the control channels. Control channels are not assigned to scanlists. Once you added a new trunk system you can add talkgroups and 'link' them to the new created trunk system. Also see the ARc500 manual or ARC500 User Guide - The RadioReference Wiki
