I am trying to find the correct way to install a discriminator tap on a pro 163 I have a friend who is helping me with it since i am not to handy with a soldering iron. Any way I need step by step instructions of putting a tap in this radio I have already read the thread about it on radio reference and a single wire running to TP4 doesn't seem to be working for us. Does it need to be grounded, do we need to add a resistor or do we need to change tap point? any instruction on this would be greatly appreciated. Right now we have a single wire going from TP4 to a mono 1/8 phone jack and cant decode squat. please somebody out there give us some advice to get this tap working right.
