Pro-197 RS 800mhz antenna and attenuator

Was wondering when I should use the "attenuator"

I use my Pro-107 in my room on a desk, It has the RS 800MHZ antenna on it, I listen to P25 simulcast system here in Mesa,AZ.

With the attenuator off the decode is 99% when analyzing the control channel

With it on it is the same 99%

Im also 3 blocks from a T-Mbile cell site and im also located 3 miles from the main P25 simulcast system tower

Should I use the "attenuator" ?

At 99% decode, I don't see anything to be gained by using the ATT.

Ok thank you, I was just reading about overloading and such and was thinking it is overloading but eveything sounds fine still
