I’ve got Probe with the OS535 running on the Mac in DOSBox. Took me awhile to figure out how to address the doggone USB-serial adapter in the config file, but once I got it figured out, away it went.
I had to copy all of the Probe files from my DOS laptop manually with a floppy disk (remember those?). Fortunately I still have my USB floppy drive and was able to copy the files directly to the Mac; took about a dozen trips back and forth with the floppy disk to get all the files copied.
It’s been several years since I seriously used Probe; it’s in need of a major database update, And I've still got some tweaking to do, as DOSBox seems to hiccup and freeze the computer up if I try to do too much at once.
I've also got it running on a relatively recent Toughbook laptop under Windows 7; working like a champ, although it's usually the only thing running.
Fun getting these old workhorses up and running again; my next project is the semi-TurboWhopper Pro-2004 with the CE-232 interface (and a number of other mods I did).
