Pro-2051 and the Trunking Radios here in town

Howdy,

My buddy has a Pro-2051 and asked that I help him get it working here for stuff happening around town. In town and the surrounding county we have the following:

System Type: Motorola Type II Smartnet
System Voice: Analog and APCO-25 Common Air Interface

I tried getting it to work and thought that I had it set up right. But we never hear any of the trunking traffuc. I mean, I hear the control channel but never any of the calls of voices decoded within the talk groups programmed. I think that this scanner will not work with the Radio system installed because it is not a digital scanner.

What do y'all say or think about this?

Exactly what system is it. If any of the TGIDs are marked as A they can be listened to. The system has both analog and digital IDs.

Jerri is right on the money, for the A ones you will be alright but the D ones you will need a digital scanner...........Hoser

Thanks for the quick response. That is what I surmised yesterday morning when looking at the stuff I printed out from here regarding the system here in Charlottesville/Albemarle.
