When I got my Radio shack Pro2052 back around 2004 I was under the impression that it was going to be like my then Radio shack Pro97. Just a base station version. I tried and failed to get the radio to do trunking and conventional scanning at the same time.

And now in 2011 am being told I wasn't doing something right back then to get it to do it. I think I read somewhere there are different versions of the 2052 .One that can do trunking and conventional and one that cannot. I am convinced after a night of trying to get my radio to do any trunking at all, that my radio might be one of those that can do one or the other, but not both. HELP!

Hi Steve,
Long time no coms.
A small, silver sticker on bottom will have a 5 digit date code 04A03 or later for newer scanner. This can scan both conv and trunk at same time.

Edit: If yours is newer
1. press MANUAL while in trunked bank.
2. press TRUNK.
3. Press HOLD/UP until reaching an unused spot in same bank.
4. Enter frequency.
5. Press E.
Move up to next spot and repeat 4 and 5.

Edit again: When complete press TRUNK.

It was the Pro-2055, not the Pro-2052 that was the base version of the Pro-97.

You may want to recheck the date code on your scanner, 10A10 doesn't sound right for that scanner. The standard RS Date Code format is Month(1 - 12) "A" Year (0-9 prior to 2000 and 00-99 from 2000 on). "04A03" would indicate a manufacture date of April 2003, "10A10" would be October 2010, too late for the Pro-2052.

Yup, no point in using conv freqs in a trunk bank and it wont operate on a conv bank without disabling all trunk banks.

In remote WinscanRS will fool the scanner to operate both at a time though not very well. I think Radio Commander will also fool the scanner in remote ops. RadioCom Software
