I got a Pro-668 with that error code what from what i read on her might be the sd card? So if I get a new one how do I go about updating or reloading so I can program by zip code?

You can use the "prepare card" option in E-Z Scan (iScan if you haven't legacy-upgraded your 668 to WS-1080 spec) or you can use a free app called SDFormatter. But do yourself a favor and get another card and keep it programmed. Sometimes when the card goes haywire and throws these codes, it's the beginning of the end for it. The spare cards are cheap insurance to have with you so you can get your scanner working again the next time it happens. And it almost certainly will happen again.

Hook it up to iscan/EZ Scan and go to the Scanner/SD Card tab at the very top and select Prepare Scanner Memory/SD Card for use. Format it there. If the issue continues you will need to replace the SD card.

If you have not gotten the Legacy Upgrade from Whistler, to turn the PRO668 into a WS1080, I urge you to do so, it improves reception, battery life and makes updating the library a lot easier.

From Radio Reference Wiki:

03-03Error reading MicroSD cardReinsert the MicroSD card to ensure it is fully inserted in locked in the MicroSD slot. If necessary, reformat the MicroSD card using the PC Application “Prepare SD Card for use” option. Replace the MicroSD card if the problem persists.

If you want to format and program the card a lot easier in the future get an adapter that plugs into a USB port. They're fairly cheap. You will also be able to use it to easily move pictures from a camera card to your computer. My current one is a Warrky that will accept SD, MicroSD, and something else. It also functions as a 3-port hub. I can't recall what I paid but it wasn't awful, surely not more than $25-$30. Formatting/preparing and loading up the cards goes much faster this way than using the cable with the card in the scanner.

how do you program? the playlist is empty and the software says it can't update.
You should be able to program the scanner without updating the library via iscan software.....However I strongly recommend you Send it in to whistler for the legacy upgrade then you get your 668 upgraded to a WS1080 and ezscan software. other then that search this site for how to manually update the library.
