We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Question: Is there a way to program the 668 to shut off automatically, like a timer shut off feature?

I often fall asleep with my scanner on and would like it to power off instead of run out of battery.

Thanks in advance.

;) I have not found a way (if there is one). Another suggestion, get a good 5v A/C adapter and plug it in when your settled down for the evening (so you don't have a cord following you everywhere). This way, when you doze off, the radio will not shut down. The one I got was recommended by a RS salesman (quite an uninformed salesman I may add), is this one ( Mini USB Wall Charger 5' Cable 2302393 Radioshack ). They are @ 1/3 the cost of the retail store prices on fleabay (and they are brand new ones if you are careful). ;)
