I recently purchased a Pro-92 via internet auction. My reason for purchase is that I always held the belief that the Pro-92 was one of the few (if only?) hand-held which touted a metal body, rather than plastic. Imagine my frustration when I received the Pro-92, which possessed a plastic body. I can't find the source of my belief (some internet site I'm sure). Maybe I was dreaming??? Does anybody know...did any of the Pro-92 scanners have a metal case? I have the "B" version if that perhaps matters.

Not only is it plastic, but it seems to be more fragile than newer models as well.

I had one, and I've seen a bunch and they were all plastic. I wonder what made you think any RS handheld made in the last 30 years was metal? Last metal one I can remember owning was the old Regency HX-1000, and only part of it was metal. Since then, all the scanners have been plastic.
