In the Pro-95 manual, it states that different frequency steps are available on VHF-Hi. What I don't see in the manual is how to change the frequency step. Right now, i'm moving up in 7.5 kHz steps and need to change it to 5 kHz steps.

Anyone remember how to change the frequency step?

SPECIFICATIONS
Frequency Coverage (MHz)
25–54 ........................ (in 5 kHz steps)
108–136.9875 ....... (in 12.5 kHz steps)
137–174............ (in 5, 6.25, or 7.5 kHz
steps)

Strange that they list different tuning steps in the manual, but there's no way to change them. Why would they do this?

The PRO-95 was made with different steps in different parts of the 136-174 band according to how frequencies are allocated in the US. You can't change them.
I don't remember exactly how they set it up but I know it had 7.5 kHz steps in the 150.815-156.24 and 157.47-161.565 private land mobile bands and 5 kHz steps in the federal bands. I don't remember what it had in the VHF marine band and don't know where they used 6.25 kHz steps.
That was one of the reasons I got rid of mine years ago.
