So today my Pro 96 started acting up. I was out driving around and noticed that it was actively scanning, but nobody was talking. I took the battery pack out and reinserted it and almost immediately I started picking up traffic. Its done this to me several times since then, and as long as I take the battery pack out and reinsert it, it works fine.....Anyone else had the same issue?

Your battery contacts are getting worn. Take the batteries out, with a small screwdriver, carefully bend the contacts in the scanner case out. Check for wear and tear on the contacts of the battery holder too. Another cheap fix is to put a small piece of foam on the battery cover, and in the bottom of the scanner to help push the battery holder against the contacts.
