PRO-96 on P25 System

Not sure if this is the best place or if the Colorado forum would be better, but here goes...

A friend of mine is trying to monitor the state system on Co.

He tells me that he is getting only the tail end of conversations. I remember this issue coming up before but I couldn't find anything on my searches.
Anyone have any ideas on this??

Likely in an area where decoding rate is low or flip flopping. Have your friend manually select the CC and observe line 4 on display. If the decode rate doesn't maintain above 70 %, the problem described will occur. The Radio Shack 800 antenna (20-283) may help or try an external antenna.

One other point, often encryption may he used by one side of the transmission and clear on the other.
