Well, it's been a long time and I was wondering if anyone had any clue as to the 'secret feature'? Supposedly, Rich @ stronsignals knew, but I guess he's not/can't talk about here.

Anyone have a clue?

Was it the '9600' control channel monitor?
MilAir via test mode?

I think it was just marketing BS to get people talking about the scanner.

You mean this secret?

Basically you get some "easter egg" message by pressing the buttons in a certain order.

Press [PGM]
Press [FUNC]
Press [PGM]
Press [TEXT]

Press [TRUNK]

Read the message then

Press [TUNE]

to read the names of the witty individuals who created this "secret".

The Pro-51 secret was a lot cooler--you pressed certain buttons, you got to unlock the cellular frequencies. But you already knew that.

Unlock Cell with a Pro-51? Never heard of it, though Uncle Charlie would be very interested if you did suceed!

Perhaps I need a 51 after all...
