We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Hey,
I have a good ol' Radioshack Pro-97 scanner and I was interested in purchasing a better antenna for it. I was wondering what you guys would recommend, maybe a rooftop antenna or just something a little stronger that will reach out and I wont get the horrible static that I get.

Thanks!

You might want to read through the multiple threads in the Scanner/Receiver Antennas forum of RR as there are many recommendations there for rooftop, mobile and handheld "rubber duck" scanner antennas: Scanner / Receiver Antennas - The RadioReference.com Forums
