I received a new Pro 97 yesterday and constantly getting ' low battery' alert and beep every few seconds. This is getting frustrating as I have put 5 sets of new batteries in this unit and still cannot get rid of this message. I did a total reboot twice and it still shows up. I have tryed both alkaline in the black holder and rechargeables in the yellow holder and nothing changes. Is there a simple fix to this problem or is my unit defective.:(

Thanks

If you mean "new" rechargeables, charge 'em up for 12-16 hours solid. If you mean "new" alkalines, and you're confident that they are new as in fresh and full of juice and you're still getting the beep about it being a low battery, then yes I'd say something is very wrong with that scanner.

Is it possible that the default LO voltage level setting is wrong? Should be 3.94 from what I see using Win97.

low battery alert

Thanks to all for the help. I still cannot get rid of this message and have tryed fully charged or new batteries . I guess this unit is defective and going to return it.
Thanks again for the suggestions.
