On my PRO106 when i program the W X / S A M E & activate it by S T A N D B Y, then go back to scanning, then go back to W X / S A M E to check it, it is DEACTIVATED because i went back to scanning, why is this ? Thanks for the time, jbxfire

Basically the Pro-106 can work as a scanner OR a weather radio in SAME mode. This is by design so you don't miss an important weather alert code being transmitted by NOAA on the weather frequency while your scanner is off on another frequency where Officer Bob is sending a long VIN number using the phonetic alphabet ("William Nine George ..."). When in SAME mode, it remains on the weather channel (perhaps scanning among them if signal is lost). When in scan mode, it scans the programmed frequencies or predefined ranges, depending on what you've selected. It will not do both at the same time.

Thanks for the reply. I have had this scanner for 3yrs now, & am finding other problems with it also.
