I have the Pro197, programing it via one of another Win7/64bit with the latest updates and the PSREdit application.

I have always had the hit counter box toggled on and when checking the radio I want to say I always have the hit counter toggled under the global settings.

I see very high hit numbers on my trunked systems' talkgroups, and a lot of what I perceive to be missed counts on the conventional channels. I have also noticed when these will occasionally work on the conventional counts with no indication as to what the difference (in settings) is.

Any suggestions?

Well I can confirm that I have re-entered the commands to activate the hit counter all three ways: via the panel, computer interface, and the software. I also confirm that the hits are counted on the trunkgroups but no increase on the conventional channels. There are some on a handful but nothing new as of the past several days.

Only "out of ordinary" thing is the scanner is almost full of frequencies.

I have asked someone in the know of this radio who is checking, but hope someone out here has seen this before.

Additional update....

A global re-set does not seem to have an effect on this. The issues seem enbedded in the frequency loat or a toggle within this load. I quickly built another load that has NO issues in it. When swapping back and forth from the loads I see no issues on the new load (hits just keep coming) and intermittent issues in the original more complete load.

Radio Shack fans will be proud to know Radio Shacks positions per the RS Regional Office in the San Francisco Bay Area Is that they are not into selling scanners and do not, nor will not provide ANY kind of technical assistance. And yes they stated they hire people who have no clue what they are selling.

I am guessing Radio Shack's retired President Lewis Kornfeld and his book - "To Catch a Mouse, Make a Noise Like a Cheese" ISBN 1565300041 (1-56530-004-1), is not on the management's reading list.

If you would like to send me your .bin file I'll be happy to take a look at it. It can be sent to support@psredit.com.

Are you sure those conventional channels are actually becoming active?

Mike

Yes - we had a fire yesterday and I was watching and listening the multiple hits on the various incident channels. They counted maybe a tenth to less than a third of the time.
