Hello, I used win 96 to program Leb. county EDAC frequencies and talk grooups into my 2096. I am not sure if I did it all right or not. On the bottom line of the display shows ED: none. What does "none" mean. I noticed that on one of the set of frequencies channel 01 showed ED: CTL 01 with a buzzing noise, but on scan it will not stop. I want to listen to the talk groups that I programed in. Thanks in advance

Win96 changed channels with frequencies to EDACS, but the other channels I believe stayed FM. I was not sure if it matters witch subbank I put the talk groups in, I later turned them on and reprogramed it.

Did you use Web Import in Win96?

Are you sure you started your freq list in channel 1 and not 0 ? In other words do not begin your LCN order in channel 0

Thats why I ask if he used Web Import...Win96 will set the LCN, bank and frequencies correctly.

Yes I did
I just thought of something...Default for Web Import is CC only. You need to uncheck that box (in middle of dialog) prior to selecting frequencies for import.

I don't remember were the CC box would, what does that mean?. I checked my owners manual, checked scanner, found that the talked groups were in and ON. I only get control channel noise on 1 set of frequencies....I don't know if Leb. County only has one running right now. Sound like they are going to start using EDACS this month.

Run Win96 and load current file.
Open Web Import to your system.
In middle of dialog is a CC Only box.
Insure it is unchecked. (EDACS systems require all freqs)
Check freq box for site.
Import to same bank with your system. This will replace only the frequencies in that bank and still keep the talkgroups.

Save the file and reload to scanner.

I'm attempting to program an EDACS system also and I just encountered the same issue. I used Win97 (with PRO-97) to download the Sebastian County Arkansas EDACS system into my PRO-97 and I get the same "ED: none" tag at the bottom of each screen. I followed the instructions above and made sure the CC box was unchecked.

I can understand conventional freq programming just fine but this trunking stuff is as confusing as politics. I upgraded to a Premium Membership here and purchased Win97 in hopes that I could get past this road bump. I'm still learning I guess.

You will see ED none when in manual and not on the control channel, use the up/down keys to go through all the EDACS frequencies, one will be making a noise if none of them are either your missing the control channel or no receiving it.

C330,
You can only program one site per bank for Sabastain CO but you would have gotten a nag in Win97 if you tried otherwise.

However, if you did except the multisite download, the scan will stop and stick on any CC in LCN after channel 06. (04 if site 4 is used first in LCN)

RoyNolt,
You've mentioned your county twice as Leb. It may help if we could have a look at your database page.

Frank,
Based on his past posts, he appears to be referencing Lebanon County, PA.

That is correct, but I live iin Northern Lancaster County, just south of Lebanon County. Also I put the three dfferent set of sites in seperate banks with LCN starting on 01. For Lebanon I can hear one site CC.
