Hi all!
Help please solve the signal reception problem. The frequency scanner scans, but does not find even active radios in the FM band. The problem arose after working in the Sentinel program (I could not start it until I changed the commas to dots). As a result of these manipulations, my files on the SD card were erased. All the same, I launched Sentinel and installed the firmware from the site through Sentinel. After that there was a problem about which I wrote. Frequency scanning is in progress, but the receiver does not find signals.
Thanks in advance for advice and help.

I used the seach function and found a verry helpfull post from @fxdscon that will probably get your UBCD3600XLT working again 😉

Reformat the card this time using this utility (recommended by Uniden):

SD Memory Card Formatter for Windows Download | SD Association

www.sdcard.org
www.sdcard.org

Then connect the scanner to the computer in "Mass Storage" mode, start Sentinel, and choose from the top menu bar..... Scanner ---> Clear User Data.

When that window opens, click the box that says "Display All Drives", (be sure that the scanner's SD card is highlighted) then click "OK". Follow the prompts after that. After that finishes, write all your programming from Sentinel to the card.

If still no luck, try a new SD card.

As the 3600 scans the SD card are fine but the programming might not. Check that you have enable the service types, the Custom 1 are what gets set to each system by default.

What happens if you tune to a FM broadcast channel? Push CHAN then the frequency, something like 100.5 and then CHAN. If the display doesn't say WFM then push the function side button Fn and then the CHAN button until it says WFM. Then tune to a station. If you can't hear any FM stations then check that the display doesn't show ATT the the bottom left.

If you have no success then in Sentinel do File/Export to hpe file and post here.

Thanks for the answer! I sent an archive of files from the receiver. The problem has not been resolved.
Moderator, unfortunately deleted the archive. Let me email it to you?

Is this a new scanner or one that used to work and now doesn't?

What commas did you change to dots?

That link to justbeamit says that file no longer exists.

I replaced the commas with dots. But it was too late, I had to format the card, because the scanner did not start and required Sentinel. I formatted the card in the program that was advised in the post above. I put the firmware through Sentinel and the scanner refuses to fully work. Scans frequencies, but does not find signals, even the FM range.
P.S. The moderator removed the link. I can send files from a flash drive to the mail.

Let's try this again.

WHAT commas? Where were they? How did you change them?

It's a special non-US Sentinel version for the UBCD3600XLT scanner and shouldn't need any change in Windows regional settings. I think it now cannot interpret the frequencies correctly in Sentinel.

Check that you use the Sentinel version that says "UBCD3600XLT Sentinel : Preset" at the top and change the regional settings back to the original setting of comma.

Select File/Export to hpe file in Sentinel and then select your favorite list and all systems and save the file. Then rename the files extension .hpe to .zip and attach to your post. It is small enough to be posted and is just that the forum does not accept files that have a .hpe extension.

Your Preset file looked good.

Sentinel is useless now. My scanner scans, but it doesn’t stop at them if I lower the noise reduction from 2 to 1 or 0. If I leave it at 2, then the scanner does not find anything. How can I send favorites lists if they don't exist? I think that this happened because of firmware 1.26.00. Initially, 1.28.15 was installed. Now I need to find this firmware * bin file and copy it to the FW folder on the SD. I think this is the only way to bring the scanner into working condition.

I would say the firmware version is the issue. I suspect your radio has newer components which requires the newer firmware version.

I think so too. Firmware 1.28.15 nowhere. I haven't found it yet, unfortunately.

If you connect your scanner to your computer and use Sentinel you can read the radios programming. If you haven't programmed your scanner from Sentinel it can only do search of frequency ranges. If you tried to manually enter a FM broadcast frequency that you know are your local one that you have tuned to on another receiver and do not hear anything then it could be a hardware failure.

You should never attempt to downgrade a firmware as your scanner could be using new hardware that needs the latest firmware to work. The latest firmware are not available for download anywhere. You will have to wait until someone here at RR or at the Avera website announce that it is available.

Uniden have problems to source all components to build their scanners so they instead choose to use components that are more readily available and redesign the circuit board and develop new firmware to handle the new components. It can introduce new bugs as happened to VHF-Hi frequency range in some models that couldn't decode digital signals.

They probably wait for feedback from current users of 1.28.15 to see that it works as it should before releasing the firmware to everyone.

All this hardware and firmware work indicate why there's no bug fixes or other enhancement being done to the current scanner models, as they have all scanner resources tied up in trying to get the production of scanners flowing out to retailers, where they get their money from and not from releasing free bug fixes.
