I have not used this radio in many years and I fired it up along with my MFJ 993B tuner and I am getting gang buster signals on the receiver. But when I try to transmit on USB or LSB I am not transmitting a signal. When I put it in USB CW or LSB Ritty and also AM I can transmit at a full output per allowed with perfect SWR. I am using a G5RV just as a side note.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you identifying in USB or LSB? This mode requires modulation.

As mentioned you need to make noise in the mic to get power out in SSB mode. Or did you last use the radio for some data mode and its pointing to something other than the mic jack for audio drive in SSB mode like a computer port?

Yes I'm sorry I didn't say that the first time. I am speaking into the mic and there is no signal transmitting also I get no signal output or SWR on my tuner showing either.

No I did not use it for data mode last I went through the modes with the mode button and it will no transmit on either of the settings USB and LSB.

Yes I am and I should also mention that when I key the mic it is showing Power Output as zero in red as if it is transmitting and also shows as being keyed up in the display indicator as Red which it does when transmitting.

Is there modulation from the mic in other modes?
I can key the mic in the other modes and I get an SWR reading and also a power output reading. I am not sure if it is transmitting voice or not or just a carrier.

Is the Mic Gain set properly?

Use another radio or receiver and verify modulation on AM or FM. If its not there then that is your problem with no power on SSB.
I don't have another HF rig to check it. Any suggestions as to why I would have no power on LSB or USB It is a multi band radio?

The main #1 reason would be no modulation. You need to verify that somehow. Maybe put in in AM mode and the power meter should wiggle a little when you talk into the mic. Does the radio have any sort of modulation meter? Does the spectral display work on transmit? If so put it in AM mode and look for modulation on the carrier or in FM mode the carrier should widen with modulation. If its a dead carrier in both cases you have no modulation, therefore no output power on SSB.

The spectrum display does not show the station transmitter side don't believe. I am getting a deflection on both my power output and SWR on 20 meters when I transmit AM and FM but nothing with USB/LSB.

I still think you have no mic audio and if you have no way to test that then maybe its best to just pay someone to diagnose it.

I guess I will see if I can find someone locally that can do that. Thanks

You missed my point.
I guess I did, what is your point send it back to Yaesu? Or call Tech support? I was just checking here before going to Yaesu in case another FT 1200 owner had experienced this same issue. I am still trying to troubleshoot this with the help of everyone without sending the radio back for repairs for several months. I will call them later today and see if they are available to help troubleshoot. As always thank you all for your input.

And, that's OK to a point. I see people every day posting on social media about problems with their radios, or their cars, or their cameras. Once in a while, they get good answers. Sometimes, they get sent off on wild goose chases by well intentioned people who have a biased opinion or who just don't have a clue. But, it's your dice--you get to roll them.

Assuming you are trying to transmit into a dummy load (eliminates the antenna from the problem) through a known good wattmeter using a sideband mode while using a known good power supply and you get no power output, that tells me to look at the mic gain setting on the radio, the good/bad state of the microphone and microphone cable, or the good/bad state of the radio.

The point that the other poster missed was the spelling of Yaesu. It's a pet peeve of mine.
