Greetings:

For reasons I don't understand, I'm having problems programming/monitoring an LTR system with my SDS100 that my Uniden BCD325P2 receives just fine.

I'm programming the SDS100 through Sentinel with information (system/department/site/frequencies/logical channel numbers) that shows up on the ARC XT software I used to program the BCD325P2.

As best I can tell, this is an LTR Standard system with three frequencies and logical channel numbers 9, 10, and 11.

Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks!

Is the system identified in the RR database? Have you programmed in talkgroups for said system & if so, are the appropriate service types enabled? Did you assign quick keys & if so, are they enabled in the SDS100?

Which LTR system are you monitoring. I don't see one listed in your county. If you attach your ARC-XT file and a hpe file of your Sentinel favorites list, I can compare the two to find the problem.

Thanks for the response, Whiskey3JMC. To answer your questions:

-The system is not in the RR database. It's an old analog LTR trunked radio system operated by a utility company (Public Service Company of New Mexico) that I must have programmed years ago. I can't remember how I identified the logical channel numbers. I'm pretty sure the BCD325P2 has no way of finding the LCN's on its own.

-I programmed three talkgroups that I'd placed in the radio's "Quick Save Group" for the system. The talkgroup format (0-00-000) is what led me to believe the system is LTR Standard. The talkgroups defaulted to "Custom 1" in the Scan Types menu, which I've enabled in the SDS100.

-I set a Favorites List Quick Key (17) . . . and a Favorites List Number Tag (also 17), just to be certain. To the best of my knowledge, those numbers are enabled.

My problem is probably due to pilot error of some sort, but I can't think what the problem could be because I can monitor this system on my BCD325P2. It's possible that this issue might be a simple matter of signal sensitivity. The SDS100 isn't as sensitive as the BCD325P2, and it's analog performance isn't on par with the '325's. I'll see what happens when I travel to Santa Fe tomorrow and get closer to the transmitters.

Thanks.

I have an SDS100 and have not played with LTR. But knowing what i know about this unit, is there an option to adjust the filters?
I monitor a Connect Plus system in UHF and where i live is near a Down Town area and its filled with UHF crap. I have to adjust the filters to get it to work right. I think Normal work for me but thats just an example. No filter and Inverted cause it to not work well at all.

Hello, tvenger.

The files are showing up on my desktop, but I'm unable to attach them to this response. Neither file type seems to be supported on my laptop, and I'm not the computer "power user" that my daughter and granddaughter are. Do I need to install some kind of software in order to forward them to you?

Thanks.

I haven't tried adjusting the filters, IAmSixNine. I'm in a rural area without any significant interference, and everything in my SDS100 seems to work pretty well with the filters set to "normal" or "wide normal."

Thanks!

You have to right click on each file and Send to Compressed (zipped) folder to be able to attach it.

Ohhhh . . . I've never tried to share files on RadioReference, tvengr.

They're attached. Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

I have your Sentinel hpe favorites list file. You sent an ARC-XT pfl profile file which is a list of rsf system files to open. I need the rsf system file.

Okay. Let me try that again.

I'll be right back.

I don't know if I did anything differently this time, tvengr.

My apologies if I sent the same type of file.

As you can tell, I'm not particularly good at some of the computer functions.

Thanks.

What does the screen on the SDS100 display?

Hmmmm . . . that might be the problem. For whatever reasons, that system doesn’t show up on the screen when I stop scanning and try to scroll to it.

I’ve got to leave for awhile this evening, and I’ll try looking more closely at the settings tomorrow. As far as I can tell, everything is enabled. I can bring it up on the menu to “set scan selection”or to “manage favorites,” but it doesn’t seem to be scanning along with the rest of the favorites list.

In the Sentinel Profile Editor, check that Download and Monitor are both turned On for the favorites list. I am going to shut down for the evening also.
