Hi all,

I have a wonderfully fast scanning PRO-2042 (updated PRO-2035). Is there any way to program it via computer? I looked around, and found Optoelectronics OS-535 Computer Interface Board, but they no longer produce the boards.

It's not impossible to program by hand, but I don't have that kind of time.

Am I stuck doing it the old fashioned way, or is there a better way?

without alpha tagging, it does not take that long. frequencies only.
i have the 2035 and it is my 'right hand' radio. simple to type something into to listen to it.

The OS-536 cannot program the scanner memory, it's only an interface to the radio receiver part of the scanner to be controlled from a PC instead of its own CPU circuit.

There was another add on board CE-232 by Bill Cheek that programmed the scanner and also another simple interface, Pro something, that could control the keyboard of most scanners so that a PC could quickly push the buttons to program a scanners memory.

edit: PROgramit Project Page (qsl.net) This WEB site decribes a simple interface that you can build to add computer control to almost any scanner.
